How to Use the PAF Tutorial

The PAF Tutorial is a learning aid and reference for the Personal Ancestral File family history program. The tutorial is divided into several tasks, ranging from downloading and installing PAF to exporting information as a GEDCOM file.

The window is divided into two panes—a menu pane on the left and a display pane on the right. Click links in the menu pane to show information in the display pane.

Demo Links

Clicking a "Demo" link next to a particular task in the menu pane displays an interactive demonstration. In these demonstrations, audio and text instructions guide you along as you learn about PAF tasks. All text will be entered automatically, but you will need to click appropriate buttons, menus, and fields, as indicated.

Step-by-Step Links

Step-by-step instructions serve as a PAF "recipe" of sorts, listing each step necessary to complete a particular task. You are encouraged to open the actual PAF program and complete the steps as listed.
